Position overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate dental assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support our dentists in providing high-Quality patient care by assisting during procedures, preparing treatment rooms, and ensuring a comfortable experience for patients. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient-Centered care.

Summary of responsibilities

• Assist dentists during dental procedures by handing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary materials.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update electronic health records (EHR).
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
• Manage dental supply inventory and restock as needed.
• Schedule patient appointments and assist with front desk duties as necessary.

Education & certification

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Dental Assisting program required.
• Current Radiology Certification (X-ray license) in California required.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Prior experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
