The Staff Pharmacist provides clinical judgment and distribution skills to ensure patients receive high-quality pharmaceutical care. They are responsible for identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems within the hospital setting.
Candidates must hold a current California Registered Pharmacist license and obtain ACLS and PALS certifications within one year of hire. One year of hospital experience in an inpatient, decentralized setting is desired.
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing the clinical judgment, professional knowledge, and distribution skills in the Pharmacy Department to assure that patients receive pharmaceutical care which is consistent with the mission of the department and the hospital. The Staff Pharmacist identifies, resolves, and prevents drug-related problems. These activities are performed within the context of established policies, procedures and techniques of Enloe Medical Center, the Enloe Medical Center Pharmacy, and federal and state standards and regulations. The Staff Pharmacist supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Pharmacy Department. EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Desired: One year of hospital experience in an inpatient, decentralized setting Computer experience with pharmacy programs and with Windows Demonstrated application of drug knowledge and clinical judgment LICENSE / CERTIFICATION: Minimum: Current license as a Registered Pharmacist in good standing by the State of California Current ACLS Certification (within one year of hire) (current Pharmacists will have until 7/31/2027 to obtain) Current PALS Certification (within one year of hire) (current Pharmacists will have until 7/31/2027 to obtain) SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests. Ability to exercise sound professional judgment. Knowledge of CII Safe/PYXIS operations. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position..
