The Telemetry Monitor Technician performs continuous observation of patient electrocardiograph patterns and monitors for dysrhythmias. They are responsible for documenting changes and communicating effectively with the nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and complete a basic EKG course including a comprehensive exam. A valid BLS certification is also required for this position.

The Telemetry Monitor Technician maintains close continuous observation of the electrocardiograph patterns of patients. The monitor technician possesses a basic knowledge of dysrhythmias and utilizes effective communication with unit personnel and interdisciplinary team members. The staff member will record changes, actions and communication with the nursing staff as needed. The Telemetry Monitor Technician will be competent in the operation of the telemetry equipment and perform basic hands-on troubleshooting.
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Must complete basic EKG course including a comprehensive written, oral and practical exam.
