The Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to care. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, recording information in medical records, and preparing treatment rooms.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited medical assisting program. Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA, or NAHP is required, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
