Position Summary
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will work under the direction of the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse to provide direct care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety. You will play a key role in maintaining a clean and supportive environment, observing and reporting changes in residents’ conditions, and assisting with daily living activities.
Key responsibilities
Assist residents with personal care needs, including grooming, hygiene, nutrition, activity, rest, and elimination in a safe and respectful manner.
Maintain a clean and comfortable environment by supporting proper ventilation, lighting, and furniture arrangements.
Promote residents’ dignity and uphold all resident rights, including the right to be free from abuse and restraints.
Report any signs of abuse or violations of resident rights immediately to the Charge Nurse or appropriate personnel.

Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, visitors, and healthcare team members.
Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and their care.
Follow individualized care plans and assist in providing restorative nursing care as directed.
Monitor residents’ conditions and report any changes in behavior, appearance, or physical ability to the Charge Nurse or Unit Manager.
Perform non-clinical nursing procedures under supervision, within the scope of CNA certification.
Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of equipment and supplies; report repair or supply needs to the supervising nurse.
Respond promptly to call lights and emergencies, ensuring timely assistance.
Assist in transporting residents safely using appropriate equipment and proper body mechanics.
Support residents in recreational, social, and dining activities as needed.
Recognize and respect each resident’s emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Attend required training sessions and maintain competency in the use of equipment such as lifts, shower chairs, and adjustable beds.
Follow all infection control and safety procedures, including hand hygiene and proper disposal of soiled materials.
Accurately document care provided to residents in a timely and concise manner.
Accept assignment changes as needed to ensure quality resident care.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications
Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program
Current, active CNA certification in the State of California
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
Strong understanding of written and verbal instructions
Demonstrated ability to support residents’ daily care needs while maintaining dignity and resident rights
Physical requirements
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents for extended periods
Ability to use proper body mechanics and assistive devices safely
