Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE: Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. FT position available, D/E, 8-hour shifts. RN to work in a busy Orthopaedic practice. Responsibilities include direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic pts, brace fitting, setting up and assisting with procedures, suture staple removal, applying a variety of casts and splints to patients, medication administration, patient and staff education, and charge nurse duties.. Must be able to work in a very fast paced environment, able to multitask and lead a team in providing optimal patient care and throughput. Able to represent the strong commitment with staff and patients. NYS license and a minimum of three years of experience is required. Prior experience in ambulatory care and/or Orthopaedics is preferred.
