The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist the staff psychiatrist with medication management and conduct health assessments within an outpatient setting. They will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide essential nursing support and care to clients with mental health challenges.
Candidates must hold a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from the Virginia State Board of Nursing. At least one year of experience in medication administration within a psychiatric, substance abuse, or long-term care setting is required.

Join us in making a positive impact in our community! what you need to be successful To excel in the role of a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services program at the Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess specific qualifications and essential skills. To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements: Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Virginia State Board of Nursing One (1) year of experience in medication administration in a substance abuse treatment, psychiatric setting, or long-term care facility including the dispensing of narcotic medication. Additionally, candidates excel with having proficiency in conducting health assessments, medication management, and providing supportive counseling. Strong communication skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are also essential.
