SUMMARY
We are searching for LADC/SUD Counselors to provide direct therapy, counseling, and assessment services within a modified Therapeutic Community (mTC). They are responsible for facilitating psychotherapeutic and educational substance use disorder related groups. LADC/SUD Counselors manage a caseload of clients including all required billing, clinical documentation, and related treatment plans in accordance with ASAM criteria, 245G requirements and RS EDEN policy and procedure. They work closely within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive SUD treatment services.

LADC/SUD Counselors need to be creative, flexible, and adaptable.
Sound organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks are a must.
They are responsible for facilitating psychotherapeutic and educational substance use disorder related groups.
They manage a caseload of clients including all required billing, clinical documentation, and related treatment plans in accordance with ASAM criteria, 245G requirements and RS EDEN policy and procedure.
They work closely within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive SUD treatment services.
Ability to manage crisis situations in a professional and therapeutic manner is a must.
This position is classified as a category 3 driving position.
Pay ranges from $65,000-$80,000/annually
This position is 100% on-site
Responsibilities
Utilize ASAM criteria to assess client strengths, needs, and SUD treatment level of care
Make recommendations and referrals regarding client treatment plan needs
Work collaboratively with client and clinical team to develop, implement, and maintain individual treatment plans
Prepare required clinical documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner in accordance with 245G statutes and policy and procedure
Facilitate individual and group therapy/counseling services

Maintain contacts and attend meetings with collaborating agencies for purposes of supporting client goals and progress
Promote and instill positive attitude and client engagement
As part of the therapeutic community, support client development of daily living and socialization skills
Supervise client recreational and community activities, when applicable
Maintain clear and timely communication of client needs, behaviors, and care plans with other Recovery Services staff
Participate in speaking engagements or workshop presentations
Prepare case reviews for multidisciplinary clinical meetings for ongoing review and assessment of client progress
Attend required trainings
Safeguard personally identifiable health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA and 42CFR standards
Maintain favorable driving record
Maintain and promote a safe, harmonious and productive work environment
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements
Required
Current Minnesota LADC or ADC-T license
Minimum Associate degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling or related field required
1-2 years of experience or equivalent training in Rule 25 and/or Comprehensive Assessments
Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple individual and systemic barriers to success
Current Mantoux test. (Annual requirement thereafter)
One year off correctional supervision
Two years free of any problems associated with substance use. Employees directly responsible for persons being served by the program are prohibited from abusing prescription medication or being in any manner under the influence of a chemical that impairs the individual’s ability to provide services or care
6-month requirement between any treatment services and employment
Preferred
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Substance Use Disorder Counseling or related field
CPR/First Aid training
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong computer skills
Familiarity with Procentive or other EHR systems
Excellent time management skills
