The Ultrasound Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic scans and follows departmental protocols for documentation and patient care. They are responsible for setting up equipment, reviewing films with medical staff, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.
Candidates must be graduates of an ARDMS sanctioned school and a JRCERT approved radiology program. Required certifications include BLS and ARDMS in Abdomen or OB/GYN, or ARRT(S) certification.
The Ultrasound Technologist uses specialized ultrasound equipment, takes images of the appropriate areas of the anatomy using scanning technique that results in high quality diagnostic images as requested by the physician. The Ultrasound Technologist follows departmental protocol as it relates to documentation, comparison, consent, and other information needed for interpretation and appropriate patient care.
