The Behavioral Health Aide provides stabilization and support to clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges using trauma-informed practices. Key duties include monitoring client safety, documenting interventions, and assisting with daily living activities.
Candidates should ideally have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in residential treatment or social services. Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

The Behavioral Health Aide continually builds and improves rapport with clients through trauma-informed practices to create a safe, welcoming environment that will offer stabilization and encourage self-sufficiency and independence. Provide and offer basic services and support to move clients toward a healthier lifestyle.
Secondary Duties Maintain positive, professional interactions with community resources including, emergency services, fire, police and sheriff, criminal justice, staff from other community providers, client family members, agency donors, community support groups and referral sources. Provide community resource list or other basic information to clients. Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.

Minimum of 1 year experience in one or more of the following: Residential or Outpatient Treatment. Working with adults with mental illness / substance use disorders. Social Services. Computer literate with familiarity of Microsoft Office - required for client data entry and intake and admission duties. Ability to work efficiently and to switch tasks quickly and successfully . Must work scheduled shifts. (will vary). Reliability to fill shifts and support the team as needed. Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures. Interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public. Willingness to accept supervision and direction. Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license, have a good driving record and be insurable on the agency’s liability policy. Knowledge of Mental Illness and Addiction. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and Utah DHS – Office of Licensing background screening. CPR and First Aid Certification or become certified in the first 30 days.
Physical Demands Ability to walk up and down stairs and stay on your feet for more than half of your shift. Ability to move around the facility, interacting with clients for extended periods. May entail using a computer and sit for part of your shift.
