The role involves delivering direct patient care, including preparation, vital sign collection, assisting with procedures, and administering medications under provider direction. Responsibilities also include managing patient documentation, scheduling necessary tests/surgeries, and coordinating physician schedules.
Candidates must successfully complete a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES and obtain one of several specified Medical Assistant certifications within one year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and proof of mandatory reporter abuse training must be obtained within three months of hire.
