The Outpatient Therapist provides clinical social work services, including therapy and crisis intervention, to help patients achieve optimal emotional health. Responsibilities include performing biopsychosocial assessments and providing consultation and referrals for patients and their families.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in social work or a related mental health field and possess a valid Missouri state license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT). Preference is given to those with two years of experience in psychiatric healthcare, including skills in family and group therapies.
The Outpatient Therapist performs social services functions to include; assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.
Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a clinically related mental health field.
Program Therapist prefers two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. This time in the field can include practicum and internship studies or work at a mental health institution while an undergraduate.
