The role involves evaluating and solving problems related to the collection and processing of specimens while maintaining specimen integrity. The scientist is responsible for facilitating workflow, managing outstanding tests, and utilizing computer downtime procedures to ensure timely patient care.
A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related science is preferred, along with a required internship in an approved training program. Candidates must hold a valid certification such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or an equivalent state/board license.
