The Health Unit Coordinator manages day-to-day unit operations by processing physician orders and maintaining patient records. They serve as the primary communication hub between providers, nursing staff, and patients to ensure seamless clinical workflows.
Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in a healthcare or clinical environment and a strong knowledge of medical terminology. Previous administrative or clerical experience and the ability to remain focused in a fast-paced setting are required.

What You’ll Do As a Health Unit Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient day-to-day unit operations by supporting nursing staff and facilitating seamless communication between patients, providers and internal teams.
Accurately process, transcribe, and distribute physician orders Maintain and update patient records, including admissions, transfers, and discharges Serve as a communication hub between providers, nurses, patients, and external contacts Support daily administrative operations including answering phones, faxing, filing, and coordinating documentation Help ensure timely, organized workflows that support quality patient care Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold hospital policies and compliance standards What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a highly organized professional who can multitask effectively while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
