The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for administering physical therapy treatments and modalities as directed by a physical therapist to restore function and prevent disability. This role also involves coordinating, delegating, and supervising responsibilities assigned to physical therapy technicians and participating in departmental operational aspects.
Candidates must be a graduate of an approved school for Physical Therapy Assistants and hold current State Physical Therapy Assistant Licensure along with current BCLS (CPR) certification. A minimum of three or more years of previous experience in all aspects of physical therapy as an assistant is required.
