The Surgical Technologist applies sterile and aseptic techniques to assist physicians during invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Duties are performed across the OR, OPS, and CS areas, including scheduled call hours.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited surgical technology program and hold a current BLS certification. Knowledge of surgical asepsis principles and practices is required.
The Surgical Technologist possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic techniques and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation of tools and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Duties of the surgical technologist will be performed in OR, OPS, CS and other areas where invasive procedures are performed. Will be responsible in taking call hours as scheduled by the Director of Surgery.
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program. Current BLS certification.
Knowledge of procedures, able to apply principles and practices of surgical asepsis.
