Performs sample processing and exempt screening tests in accordance with regulatory standards. Conducts venipunctures and prepares blood specimens while assisting technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for one year of phlebotomy experience and EKG skills. Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, or NCA is preferred.
Overview Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
