Assist physicians and physician assistants with the application and removal of orthopedic casts, splints, and other devices. Provide patient education on cast care and perform routine treatment procedures including wound cleaning and suture removal.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and a Medical Assistant certification or registration in Washington. Candidates must have Basic Life Support certification and experience in orthopedic casting.
Provides primary responsibility to assist the physician/physician assistant in the operating room, on patient floors, and in physician offices with the application and removal of casts and orthopedic devices.
Orthopedic Technologist Certified (National Association of Orthopedic Technologists) by date of hire/transfer. Advanced knowledge of the application and removal of casts. Independent in the workplace. Certified orthopedic technician or MA with vast experience in casting.
