Assists pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for inpatient, outpatient, and infusion settings. Responsibilities include sterile compounding, managing drug stock, and collecting patient medication histories.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid State of Ohio CPhT license. Proficiency in basic math, the metric system, and pharmacy computer systems is essential.
Education High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program. (Preferred) Work Experience Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting. (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. (Required proficiency) Good communication skills are essential. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of personal computer, calculator, facsimile machine. (Required proficiency) Basic knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing cabinets.
