The Nursing Assistant Trainee learns basic elder care skills through a state-approved training program. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean environment, transporting elders, assisting with meals, and providing companionship to ensure safety.
Candidates must obtain BLS certification within 30 days and complete specific philosophy and culinary training within four months. Previous experience as a nursing aide or personal care attendant is preferred.
The Nursing Assistant Trainee is involved in the educational process to learn basic skills in the care of the elders using practices established in this facility by a State approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
The Nursing Assistant Trainee at Providence Seward Mountain Haven assists with maintaining a clean environment within the Lodge, transporting elders, assisting with meal preparation and set-up, and providing meaningful activities. This position may serve as elder companion to promote safety in situations where more direct observation is needed. The purpose of this position is to augment dining, housekeeping, and non-essential nursing functions during peak work times. This position works directly with elders, families, and staff.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
