Performs receptionist and secretarial duties as the focal communications source for the Birth Center. Assists nursing staff and physicians with direct patient care, including taking vital signs and caring for newborns.
Requires a high school diploma, proficiency in medical terminology, and computer skills. BLS and NRP certifications must be obtained within 3 to 6 months of hire.
Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs the receptionist and secretarial duties on the Birth Center while functioning as the focal communications source at the Birth Center nursing station. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists nursing staff with patient care. Provides assistance in the delivery room to nurses and physicians. Takes vital signs, feeds infants, gives newborn baths, changes bed linen and assists patients in ambulation as needed.
