ICU technicians are responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to all hospitalized specialty and emergency patients, working alongside specialists and ER veterinarians. This includes assisting veterinarians in all aspects of care, providing advanced nursing, performing procedures like venipuncture and catheter placement, and monitoring anesthesia.
Candidates must possess a high school degree or equivalent and a minimum of two years of veterinary technician experience, with RVT preferred but not mandatory. Essential abilities include excellent communication, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, the capacity to lift 40lbs unassisted, and proficiency with technology like EMR systems and digital radiology.
