ER technicians are responsible for triaging and assisting ER doctors with managing intakes and outpatient emergency cases, while also assisting veterinarians in all aspects of care and providing advanced nursing care to patients with compassion. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, placing IV catheters, running laboratory analysis, digital radiology, and monitoring anesthesia.
Candidates must have a high school degree or equivalent and a minimum of two years of veterinary technician experience, with Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) being preferred but not mandatory. Essential abilities include excellent communication, the capacity to lift up to 40lbs unassisted, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and proficiency with technology like EMR systems and digital radiology.
