The associate will conduct sample preparation and imaging for transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Additionally, they will manage daily laboratory operations, including reagent ordering, inventory management, and maintaining a clean workspace.
A Master's degree in biology or a related field and two years of laboratory experience are required. Candidates should possess strong fine motor skills, proficiency in relevant computer programs, and the ability to follow detailed protocols.
We are looking for a Research Support Associate II to join our team and conduct electron microscopic sample preparation and imaging, perform general lab, administrative and housekeeping duties in the Center.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of the EMRC, the employee will Conduct the preparation of material for transmission and scanning electron microscopy imaging, such as: fixation resin embedding negative staining sectioning techniques Conduct routine EMRC daily operations, including: maintaining and ordering laboratory reagents and supplies managing inventories generating stocks solutions for general use keeping associated equipment and laboratory space in orderly condition
Master's degree in biology or a related field and two years related lab experience Affinity for tasks requiring fine motor skills Competency in relevant computer programs; willingness and ability to learn equipment and Center-specific software, including PPMS Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team. Proven ability to multitask Willingness to learn Ability to follow protocols and maintain a detailed laboratory notebook. Detail-oriented, focused, and highly motivated.
