Provide 24/7 nursing care, assessment, and monitoring for individuals in a medically supervised withdrawal management setting. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement physician orders and ensure safe, evidence-based care during the acute phase of withdrawal.
Must possess an active Ohio RN license and CPR/BLS certification. Experience in behavioral health, emergency, or medical-surgical nursing is preferred.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on admission, including withdrawal severity, vital signs, medical history, and risk factors. Monitor patients throughout withdrawal, conducting frequent reassessments and documenting changes in condition. Implement physician/Nurse Practitioner orders, including medication administration, withdrawal protocols, and medical interventions. Identify and respond promptly to urgent or emergent medical and psychiatric concerns. Provide trauma‑informed, culturally responsive, patient‑centered care. Administer medications safely, including withdrawal management medications and MAT as ordered. Monitor medication effects, side effects, and symptom progression. Maintain accurate medication records, MARs, and controlled substance documentation. Work closely with the NP/physician, counselors, case managers, and recovery staff to ensure coordinated care. Adhere to ASAM 3.7 standards, agency policies, and nursing scope of practice. Provide patient education on withdrawal symptoms, medications, health conditions, and recovery resources. Qualifications Active Ohio RN license. Credentialed with provider type 84 and/or 95. Experience in withdrawal management, behavioral health, emergency, or medical‑surgical nursing preferred. CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS preferred. Strong assessment, critical thinking, and crisis‑response skills. Ability to work compassionately with individuals experiencing substance withdrawal and co‑occurring disorders.
