The Senior Community Integration Counselor assists individuals with disabilities in developing daily living, social, and communication skills to foster community involvement. Responsibilities include administering medications, maintaining billable records, and building support networks with families and local businesses.
A high school diploma or GED is required, while a bachelor's degree and two years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and pass comprehensive background and drug screenings.

We are now hiring a Full-Time Senior Community Integration Counselor in Queens, NY. The Senior Community Integration Counselor provides individualized services designed to assist participants in managing and overcoming the difficulties confronted when living in the community. Starting pay is $19.00 Shift: Monday - Friday
Assist individuals with daily living skills and the development of community involvement, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and social skills Provide ongoing support for community integration efforts Assist with developing a schedule for each participant to maximize community integration Administer medications and ensure proper completion of necessary documentation Plan, develop, facilitate, and participate in individual and group activities with participants, including leisure and volunteer opportunities Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely Build a support network for individuals by developing and maintaining relationships with community members, businesses, and families Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED Bachelor’s degree preferred Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record Minimum two years of relevant experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing Why Community Options?
