Locum PA (Physician's Assistant) Orthopedic Surgery

As a Locum PA in orthopedic surgery, you will play a vital role in assisting orthopedic surgeons with pre-operative and post-operative care, conducting patient assessments, and helping in the surgical environment. This position allows you to engage with a diverse patient population and work alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, all while making a significant impact on patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the evaluation and management of orthopedic patients Conduct physical examinations and assess patient conditions Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to develop treatment plans Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients Educate patients and families on orthopedic procedures and recovery Document patient care activities accurately and timely Perform minor surgical procedures under supervision Participate in patient rounds and assist in the operating room

Requirements

Associate degree with PA certification Experience in orthopedic surgery preferred Strong clinical assessment skills and medical knowledge Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment Current BLS and ACLS certifications Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems Team-oriented with a strong commitment to patient care

Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, specific dates

General orthopedic surgery caseload

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
