The technologist performs radiologic exams and procedures while ensuring patient care meets efficiency standards consistent with infection control policies and service excellence standards. They are responsible for the safe operation of radiologic equipment and maintaining current knowledge of its use.
Candidates must complete 2 years of clinical training in an AMA-approved program or possess post-high school vocational/specialized training. Required credentials include American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and a current Louisiana Registered Radiologic license (LSRT), or eligibility/temporary license along with BLS certification for new graduates.
Performs radiologic exams and procedures. Provides patient privacy and confidentiality. Ensures patient care is performed in an efficient manner, meeting standards consistent with infection control policies and OLOLRMC Standards for Service Excellence. Responsible for the safe operation of radiologic equipment utilized in patient care and maintains current knowledge of the operation of any equipment used.
