The technologist operates a computed tomography (CT) scanner to generate cross-sectional radiographs for diagnostic evaluation, requiring technical skill in data acquisition and image production. Key duties include preparing patients by assessing needs and providing education, operating the scanner, performing quality control, and evaluating the technical quality of the resulting images.
Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited radiography program and either one year of CT experience or completion of a CT training program with at least 500 clinical hours. Candidates must possess a current Indiana State Radiologic Technologist license, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration, and current Healthcare BLS certification.
Provides patient care and technical skills in the operation of a computed tomography (CT) scanner to produce cross-sectional radio-graphs of patient’s body for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.
Preparing patient for CT procedure by accurately assessing patient’s needs and providing patient education; Operating computed tomography scanner for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images; and Evaluating Radiographs, video tape, and computer generated information for technical quality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited radiography program One (1) year CT experience or graduate of CT training program with minimum of 500 clinical hours of CT training Current Radiologic Technologist license thru the State of Indiana Registered through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Current Healthcare BLS certification
Highly preferred: Three (3) or more years work experience as a CT Technologist
