The Occupational Therapist organizes and implements prescribed Occupational Therapy treatment programs, which includes evaluating patients for appropriate exercises and activities, constructing necessary splints and adaptive devices, and documenting patient progress related to rehabilitation. They also assist patients in reaching maximum performance and integrating into society within their capabilities, all while demonstrating empathy and compassion.
Candidates must possess a BS/MS/OTD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school and hold a current license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners. While experience is preferred but not required, the staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care and deliver outstanding customer service.
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the organization and implementation of medically prescribed Occupational Therapy treatment programs, evaluating patients for appropriate exercises and activities, constructing appropriate splints and adaptive devices and by evaluating and documenting the patient's progress related to rehabilitation. They also helps the patient reach their maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion towards patients and their families as well as co-workers.
