The role involves administering therapy evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans for diverse patient populations using various physical therapy techniques, and assessing patient progress related to rehabilitation potential. Responsibilities also include educating patients and families, collaborating with team members, assisting with discharge planning, and documenting care provided.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school or equivalent, along with a current license to practice physical therapy in Massachusetts, or be able to obtain it within six months of hire. Required skills include demonstrated clinical knowledge, effective verbal and written communication, excellent customer service, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from accredited PT school or equivalent. 2. Current license to practice physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. New graduates and out of state licensed physical therapists are expected to obtain Massachusetts license within 6 months of hire date. Will need to work under the direct clinical supervision by a licensed physical therapist and have all notes co-signed until license has been obtained. 3. Successful completion of National Physical Therapy Board Examination. Experience/Skills: Required: 1. Demonstrated clinical knowledge. 2. Effective verbal and written communication skills. 3. Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team. 4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. Physical therapy treatment excludes child and adolescent populations for inpatient care at Milford Regional Medical Center. We are seeking an inpatient Physical Therapist for a 24 OR 32 hour per week position with our exceptional Rehabilitation Services team. Experience with medical, oncology, neurological, orthopedic, and post-surgical populations is strongly preferred.
