The Licensed Practical Nurse administers patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse, collaborating as part of the nursing team to accomplish patient care activities. The LPN contributes to the implementation of patient care and is accountable for adhering to regulatory standards and institutional policies.
Candidates must possess a Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma Program education and hold a valid Ohio LPN license along with current AHA BLS certification. Experience is not required, but the LPN must be certified to administer medications and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
The Licensed Practical Nurse administers patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse collaborates as a member of the nursing team to accomplish patient care activities and contributes to the implementation of patient care. The LPN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The LPN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/ indirectly impacts patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others.
