This role assists a licensed pharmacist in compounding, preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing both hazardous and non-hazardous pharmaceuticals to fulfill valid prescriptions or medication orders. Responsibilities include performing essential functions related to pharmaceutical compounding, medication distribution, quality assurance, compliance, and inventory management under pharmacist supervision.
Candidates must possess a High school diploma or equivalent, along with six months of full-time pharmacy assistant or technician experience. Required certifications include National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or ExCPT) and registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the NYS Office of the Professions.
Required Education and Experience Certification Requirement 1. National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT from National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required. 2. Registered Pharmacy Technician with NYS Office of the Professions, State Education Department. Education and Experience High school diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of six (6) months of full-time pharmacy assistant or pharmacy technician experience. NOTE: 1. Incumbents must maintain the required New York State registration and national certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) as a condition of continued employment. 2. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
