The Registered Nurse independently performs direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver developmentally appropriate care in critical settings like the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care based on clinical judgment and evidence-based guidelines to promote comfort.
Candidates must possess at least 1 year of registered nursing experience and hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required licenses include a current Texas RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), and department-specific certifications like PALS/NRP/ACLS and PACES.
Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Also works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs. Critical care settings are defined as intensive care units and/or emergency department.
