The Medical Ophthalmologist diagnoses, treats, and manages a wide range of non-surgical eye conditions, focusing on medical eye care including retinal diseases, glaucoma, and inflammatory disorders. This specialist performs clinical duties such as patient evaluation, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing necessary treatments like intravitreal injections.
Candidates must possess a Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) and specialist training/board certification in Ophthalmology. Additional fellowship or training in Medical Retina, Uveitis, or Neuro-ophthalmology is preferred.
The Medical Optometrist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of non-surgical eye conditions. This role focuses on medical eye care, including retinal diseases, inflammatory eye disorders, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma management, and ocular complications of systemic illness. The specialist works closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient-centered care.
