The Residential Counselor will provide individual counseling for personal development and conduct addiction group counseling, skills building sessions, and alcohol/drug education classes for residential clients. This role also involves implementing residential program activities and supervising residents.
A Substance Abuse Counselor Certification (CSAC) or an advanced clinical degree in human services is preferred, and non-CSACs must pursue CSAC certification within two years. Two years of direct experience in substance use disorder treatment services is preferred, along with demonstrated ability in treatment planning and discharge summaries.
The Salvation Army Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) is seeking to fill a full-time Residential Substance Use Disorder Counselor position. Under the direct supervision of the Residential Clinical Supervisor, the Residential Counselor will provide residential clients with individual counseling for personal development, and conduct addiction group counseling, skills building sessions and alcohol/drug education classes. The Residential Counselor shall implement residential program activities and provide supervision of residents.
