The Residential Counselor will provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, focusing on assisting with daily living activities, emotional support, and ensuring consumer safety. Key duties include encouraging self-help, assisting with medication administration, performing personal care tasks, and teaching daily living skills like decision-making.
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license with limited points and proof of car insurance, along with a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years' experience working with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. The role requires the ability to work with high-risk consumers who may have co-occurring mental illnesses and physical disabilities, demanding strong communication and ethical conduct.
