The Emergency Department Technician performs clerical, computer, phlebotomy, EKG, and other direct patient care duties within a high-acuity Emergency Care Unit. This role operates under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Manager, or a physician.
Candidates must meet one of four educational requirements, including graduation from a medical assistant or phlebotomy program, two years of CNA experience in an acute hospital, or nursing student clinical experience. Required certifications include CPR, and successful completion of an EKG class with a minimum score of 80% within six months of hire.
The Emergency Department Technician is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Manager, or at the direction of a physician. Performs clerical, computer, phlebotomy, EKG, and other patient care duties in the Emergency Department.
