The Behavioral Health Technician will assist patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene and basic life skills development, while monitoring their conditions and documenting observations. Essential duties also involve encouraging engagement in therapeutic activities and responding to emergencies or crisis situations using de-escalation techniques.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional coursework in psychology or related fields being preferred. Experience working with individuals with mental health or behavioral disorders in a clinical or residential setting is highly preferred, alongside the physical capability to handle and lift patients.
The Maples is in search of dedicated and proficient Behavioral Health Technicians to provide support at our Baton Rouge location. The Maples serves as a residential treatment program that addresses a range of medical and mental health issues for adolescent girls facing challenges such as trauma, disordered eating, and substance abuse. We have PRN AM & PM shifts.

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination.
