About the Role

• As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients across various departments within the hospital.
• You will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications accurately while providing expert advice on drug interactions, side effects, and proper medication usage.
• Your role will involve collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy management and improve patient outcomes.
• Additionally, you will contribute to hospital operations, including immunization services and patient counseling.
• Ultimately, your expertise will support the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care that enhances patient health and safety throughout Hendry Regional Medical Center.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be licensed as a Pharmacist with the Florida Department of Health.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, or clinical pharmacy settings.
• Ability to perform patient counseling and administer immunizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with pharmacy benefit management systems and electronic health records (EHR).
• Advanced training or certification in clinical pharmacy specialties.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality assurance in pharmacy practice.
• Demonstrated skills in manual dexterity for compounding and medication preparation.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and health maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure appropriate medication selection and dosage adjustments.
• Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of medications.
• Administer immunizations and educate patients on vaccine benefits and safety.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
• Participate in hospital pharmacy operations, including pharmacy benefit management.
• Demonstrate manual dexterity in preparing and dispensing medications safely.
