The Oncology Registered Nurse serves as a liaison between providers and patients, facilitating care coordination, symptom management, and clinical support. They are responsible for performing telephone triage, managing treatment plans, and ensuring accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
Candidates must hold a current Indiana Registered Nurse license and a high school diploma or GED. Previous oncology experience and Chemo/ONS certification are highly desirable, along with proficiency in electronic medical records.
The Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital liaison between providers, patients, families, outside treatment facilities, and interdisciplinary team members. This role integrates patient education, telephone triage, provider support, care coordination, and clinical facilitation to ensure high-quality, evidence-based oncology care.
The RN supports patients across the continuum of care, including treatment planning, symptom management, survivorship preparation, medication coordination, and follow-up care. This position promotes service excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Michiana Hematology-Oncology (MHO) standards.
