The Recovery Support Specialist provides direct care services, monitors medication self-administration, and maintains a safe, therapeutic residential environment. They also facilitate client groups, manage program data, and provide necessary referrals to support client recovery.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to obtain CPR and TB screening certifications are required.
Description The Recovery Support Specialist supports the program by ensuring that quality direct care services are provided to the clients. The Recovery Support Specialist reports to the Program Director for regular supervision and assignments.
Shepherd House in Dorchester, provides residential treatment programs for 39 women with substance use disorder. The program is three-to-nine months long and helps support the residents with co-occurring conditions, such as mental health and chronic health conditions. Shepherd House also serves pregnant and postpartum women, as well as infants, allowing new mothers to continue their focus on recovery.
Experience in the field of addiction or mental health. Knowledge of the addiction recovery process or willingness to acquire it within the first six months of employment. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Position Type: Part-time (25 hours) Monday - Friday 6pm-11pm. On site.

These figures adjust based on full time or part time status and allocated vacation time increases with length of employment.
