The provider will conduct community-based psychiatric assessments, medication management, and provide medical oversight for the Assertive Community Treatment Team. They will also participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and maintain accurate clinical documentation within the EMR system.
Candidates must be a licensed Physician Assistant or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina. A minimum of 1–2 years of post-graduate experience in community psychiatry or a related setting is preferred.
Our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) delivers a true “hospital without walls” model—bringing high-intensity, community-based behavioral health services directly to individuals who may otherwise face barriers to care. This multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive, person-centered support addressing mental health, substance use, vocational, and housing needs. Through evidence-based practices, individualized service planning, and continuous outcome tracking, our ACTT program is committed to improving the lives of individuals with severe mental illness who are at high risk for psychiatric crises. We also partner closely with local and state agencies to ensure compliance, quality care, and ongoing program improvement. Position Overview We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide part-time, contract-based support to our ACTT program. This role offers flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful impact in a community-based setting. Key Responsibilities Conduct community-based visits in alignment with ACTT service requirements Provide medical oversight and supervision to ACTT mid-level providers Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as needed Deliver psychiatric assessment, treatment, and medication management Oversee prescribing practices and ensure high standards of clinical care Serve as a primary medical liaison with LME/CMOs regarding client care and program needs Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the EMR system Support additional clinical initiatives as assigned
Licensed Physician Assistant or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina 1–2 years of post-graduate experience in community psychiatry or a related setting preferred Willingness to travel locally within Williamston, NC and surrounding areas Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills Why This Role?
