Provide compassionate guidance and advocacy to families involved with the Department of Social Services using lived experience. Coordinate with caseworkers and multidisciplinary teams to help families navigate recovery and reunification processes.
Requires a high school diploma and lived experience as a parent or caregiver involved with the DSS or child welfare system. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are mandatory for transporting clients.

Summary Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Family Mentor to join our dedicated team in Asheville, NC. The Family Mentor uses their own lived experience to support families involved with the Department of Social Services (DSS). In collaboration with DSS and Pyramid Healthcare, this role provides compassionate guidance, advocacy, and resource support to help families navigate services, meet goals, and stay engaged throughout the recovery or reunification process.
Candidates must have a Certified Peer Support and have lived experience working with Department of Social Services.

Compensation 💰 $24–$25 per hour This position may be subject to state or local wage transparency requirements. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity.

Physical Demands The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, sit, use hands, and reach with arms. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, or lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment The work environment is typically moderately quiet and indoors. Local travel is required, and employees must provide their own reliable transportation. Schedule is based on operational needs.
