Part-Time Registered Nurse / ASC (Ophthalmology)

• Description At Advanced Surgery Center, in Creve Coeur, MO. (St.
• Louis Area), we are seeking an experienced Part-Time Registered Nurse to join our team.
• The Registered Nurse will assist in the organization and daily function of the surgery center in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards and Center policies and procedures.
• Care for patients preparing for their surgical procedure.
• Monitor patient's vital signs and continuously evaluate patient recovery from anesthesia.
• May assist anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians.

• This is a Part-Time position!2-3 Day a week position.
• No Fridays, weekends or holidays.
• No Call.

• Assesses, plans, evaluates and ensures the implementation of the patient's care to achieve identified outcomes and delivers safe patient care according to facility policy and procedure.
• Assesses patient status on admission and on an ongoing basis.
• Coordinates nursing interventions to enhance achievement of expected outcomes and to ensure readiness for discharge.
• Adheres to all facility policies and procedures when providing patient care.
• Demonstrates ability to provide for patient care in emergency situations.
• Assesses learning needs according to patient's level of understanding and readiness to learn.
• Participates in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibility as assigned.
• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills.
• History and physical assessment of patient.
• Completes review of medical record.
• Admits patient according to procedure.
• Promotes physical comfort and provide emotional support and safety for patient.
• Administers and charts medications as ordered by physician.a Reinforces and clarifies physician instructions and explanation of procedures to patient.
• Provides nursing care and appropriate monitoring according to policies and procedures.
• Verifies surgical/procedure site with patient and according to surgical schedule and patient History and Physical.
• Obtains and verifies operative/procedure consent.
• Provides instructions according to patient need.
• Completes nursing documentation.
• Provides emergency care according to physician and administrative policy.
• Assists with preoperative and postoperative patient calls.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility: Current State RN license. If BLS and ACLS are not current upon hire, successful completion of a course is required within 90 days of hire. Two (2) years ' experience in PreOp preferred.
