The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive healthcare to NICU patients, including diagnosing, prescribing medications, and managing complex acute health problems. They collaborate with physicians to coordinate interdisciplinary care, perform clinical procedures, and manage patient discharge and follow-up.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school and a formal Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program with a current Minnesota RN license. Certification through ANCC/AANP and eligibility for prescription writing privileges and DEA certification are required.
