The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) performs preliminary work-ups for patients of the Beaumont Eye Institute physicians using ophthalmic techniques. This role also coordinates patient appointments with clerical staff and provides general clinic support for the Eye Clinic and Low Vision Department.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma and JCAHPO Certification as required. Preferred qualifications include experience in a clinical setting, medical office, refractive surgical suite, and with medical lasers, along with 6 months of experience as a COA.
