The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications while maintaining drug inventory and patient records. Key duties include replenishing floor stock, managing Operating Room medications, and performing monthly storage inspections.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma, a Pharmacy Technician Certificate, and a New York State License. While not required, 2-3 years of pharmacy experience and college courses are preferred.

The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.
Replenishes floor stock medications on nursing units accurately, fills floor stock requests accurately and maintains appropriate documentation Identifies medications no longer in use in the Operating Room, returns medications to pharmacy, and appropriately manages such medications Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations Completes and documents monthly inspections of all assigned medication storage areas in a timely and comprehensive manner. Inspection assignments are completed without supervisor intervention
High School Diploma or Equivalent, College courses desirable Pharmacy Technician Certificate required New York State License required Basic computer skills 2 – 3 years pharmacy experience preferred, but not required
