Responsibilities
Provide medical services within scope of practice and assigned privileges under physician supervision
Perform patient assessments using age-specific principles and manage patient flow
Assist supervising physician with radiologic procedures and patient management
Conduct fluoroscopic procedures, including select contrast studies, and perform ultrasound- or fluoroscopy-guided injections
Perform procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and drain placement with appropriate imaging guidance
Prepare rooms, manage equipment, document procedures, and maintain supply inventories
Educate patients about procedures, obtain informed consent, and deliver pre- and post-procedure instructions
Adhere to safety, radiation protection, and infection control standards
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to ensure high-quality, safe patient care
Document procedural notes, imaging findings, and patient outcomes accurately
Respond promptly to emergencies and support the care team as needed
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; graduate of an approved program acceptable to the New York State Education Department
Licensure/Certifications: Current ARRT certification in Radiography; NYS licensure as Radiologic Technologist or eligibility; BLS required; ACLS preferred; additional certifications in CT, Ultrasound, or Interventional Radiology (e.g., RA/PA radiology focus) highly desirable
