The Mental Health Technician provides direct care and support to clients in a residential treatment facility, including monitoring medication and facilitating group activities. They are responsible for documenting client progress, de-escalating crisis situations, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license with an insurable record. Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment is preferred but not required, as on-the-job training is provided.
Provide care and support to individuals while maintaining a structured, therapeutic and safe environment for clients Monitor and assist with self-administration of medication, ensuring compliance to policies and procedures Implement individualized personal care plans for each client with a focus on individual goals and needs Observe and document client behaviors, mood changes and progress to the treatment team De-escalate and respond to crisis situations using approved intervention techniques Facilitate group activities and structured skill-building exercises to promote independence and coping strategies Work collaboratively with clinical staff, nurses, physicians and management staff to ensure continuity of care Follow all facility policies, safety procedures and confidentiality regulations to maintain compliance Maintain clear and professional documentation of interactions, incidents and interventions Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required Valid Driver's License and Insurable driving record Reliable transportation Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment or related field is preferred, but not required (on-the-job training provided) Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and adhere to confidentiality regulations Capable of strict adherence to policies and procedures Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect Competently communicates effectively verbally and in writing Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems Ability to pass background checks and drug screen as required by federal and state regulations Community Health Alliance is a leader providing the highest industry standards for health and human services.
